IACET Approved Provider

We Are an IACET CEU Approved Provider

The Teacher’s Academy is accredited by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET). All of our courses comply with the ANSI/IACET Standard, which is recognized around the world as a respected standard of excellence in instructional practices. Due to this accreditation, we are authorized to issue IACET CEU courses.

What Is an IACET CEU Course?

Continuing education is essential for educators who would like to maintain professional certification, memberships, or licensing in their field. CEU (Continuing Education Unit) credits allow you to achieve high-quality continuous education that is recognized by professional organizations.

A Brief History

In 1970, IACET worked with a U.S. Department of Education task force to develop the original CEU. A CEU is defined as 10 contact hours of a continuing education or training experience that has responsible sponsorship, capable direction, and qualified instruction. Many professional organizations will convert CEUs into other continuing education measurements, such as PDHs, CPCs, and CECs.

How Do IACET CEUs Stand Out?

Today, CEU is a generic term that is used by multiple organizations. IACET CEU courses, however, are held to a higher standard: The ANSI/IACET Standard for Continuing Education and Training.

 What Is the ANSI/IACET Standard?

This high standard measures Approved Providers’ IACET CEU courses across nine internationally-recognized categories:

  1. Learning Outcomes
  2. Assessment of Learning Outcomes
  3. Organization, Responsibility, and Control
  4. Planning and Instructional Personnel
  5. Learning Environment and Support Systems
  6. Evaluation of Learning Events
  7. Needs Analysis
  8. Content and Instructional Requirements
  9. Awarding the IACET CEU and Maintaining Learner Records
