The Teacher’s Academy is proud to be part of the Texas Education Agency since April 2014, offering online, affordable courses for educators across the great state of Texas. The Teacher’s Academy CPE approved provider number with the Texas Education Agency is 902185.
Not sure how many clock hours of continuing professional education are required for Texas teachers? Do you have reservations about using the technology? Are you wondering which courses will fit into your busy work schedule? No worries! The Teacher’s Academy is here to make things a little easier for our awesome teacher friends in Texas!
Every five years, Texas Teachers need 150 clock hours of Continued Professional Education (CPE) to maintain their standard teaching certificates. CPE hours can be workshops offered by your school districts, college credits or online professional development by an approved provider. The online learning program at The Teacher’s Academy is one of the best ways to help maintain your teaching certificate for several reasons: affordability, convenience and cutting-edge teaching strategies to enhance learning in the classroom.
Our courses are the most affordable online option in the country. There are no tuition fees or materials and administrative costs like you would have if enrolling in a college course. The cost of a Teacher’s Academy CPE course consisting of 15 clock hours is $79.99. The Teacher’s Academy offers courses with 3, 6, 15, and 18 CPE hours. Prices range from $24 to $89 – no college can beat that price (believe me, I checked)!
Technology should not make our lives harder, but sometimes it does! The Teacher’s Academy is a company created by teachers for teachers so we understand how frustrating and scary using technology for online professional development, or even your 6th grade computer class, can be. We have created a simple and quick way for teachers to take advantage of acquiring the necessary CPE hours which is very convenient since you work wherever your want, at your own pace. First, create an account with The Teacher’s Academy (your information will always remain private). Next, review our vast course catalog and read the summaries and projects and decide which one you want to complete. Once purchased, the course and all of the necessary materials are immediately emailed to you. Once you’ve completed all of the projects in the course, you will upload the projects to your Teacher’s Academy account where they will be reviewed. Within a few business days, you will receive 2 official certificates for each course you’ve completed, 1 for your records, and 1 to turn into your administrator.
Our courses are specifically designed for teachers to apply what they’ve learned in the classroom immediately. For example, if you decide to take our course, Microsoft Word for Educators, your projects would include creating a test, a parent letter with a mail merge, illustrated report and an award certificate. Through these projects, you will learn many different functions of Word® and be given resources to use that are appropriate for implementing in an educational setting.
Maybe you only need 3 clock hours to complete your certification requirements? In that case, it might be fun and useful to earn CPE hours surfing the top educational websites for your class! Our Website Review courses are a compilation of 25 educational websites picked out by a team of teachers. Your job is to breeze through the websites and choose 5 that you might want to review. You can dislike the sites or love them, we just want to hear what you have to say!
We specifically cater to teachers across the country by providing the latest effective educational strategies, incorporating Common Core where necessary and combining relevant projects with a little bit of humor (which is always necessary).
We also have a few unconventional, yet highly relevant professional development courses to explore. Rock out and listen to great music with our own Rock History course or start your own entrepreneur unit with the help of Future and Financial Planning. Need help understanding and implementing Common Core strategies? You’ll get clarification on using the Common Core standards by exploring the web site and creating lessons for your Science and Math classes.
This is just a small sampling of our vast and varied course catalog. Check it out and get started with relevant, affordable and convenient professional development today!
